From the seafront, with its large port, you enter the historical centre of the town and walk the main street, the Korzo, with its shops, restaurants, old buildings and also the market, with its colourful fruit and vegetable stalls. Going up you reach the Trsat Castle and the Sanctuary of the same name: to reach them you have to climb 561 steps!

 

You can reach Krk with an excursion. It’s the northernmost island of the Mediterranean and it’s connected to the mainland by a bridge: bays, beaches, and jagged coastline are followed by the various towns that overlook the Adriatic Sea. Among these, Vrbnik is worth mentioning, a place renowned worldwide for its wine. Indeed, Vrbnička žlahtina is produced in the area, a white and dry wine of  the indigenous žlahtina vine, which translates as “The Noble Wine”.

 

You can reach Zagreb with an excursion. You won't be disappointed by the capital of Croatia: it has two souls, the old one, reminiscent of the old middle part of Europe, and the modern one, with bars, museums and a fervent cultural life. The city is divided into two zones that are connected by a funicular railway. The Upper Town, built on a hill, is the oldest part of the city, while in the Lower Town the Nineteenth and Twentieth century buildings stand out. The Maksimir Park is not to be missed: it's one of the oldest parks in Europe, with its English gardens, artificial lakes and paths to take walks on while enjoying the luxuriant landscape.

 

An excursion will make you discover the Plitvice Lakes National Park. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the lake complex consists of sixteen lakes and an unspecified number of bodies of water arranged in waterfalls. A unique view that can not be missed!
