CPT01D - Cape Peninsula Tour & African penguin colony ending at airport (about 6 hours) - 2011 - 2012
Leaving the pier the road leads you via the suburbs of Sea Point, Clifton, Camps Bay and Llandudno to Hout Bay, a small fishing village on the Atlantic seaboard. Continue to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, which was founded with the aim of preserving the unique Cape Fynbos landscape. Arriving at the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, drive through the reserve and descend to the Cape of Good Hope, the original anchorage place of the Dutch pioneers. Continue towards Cape Point, the most south-westerly tip of Africa. Take a walk or ride the funicular(optional) to the Lighthouse and enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding landscape, the tempestuous coastline and the all-embracing mountain chains. The return journey to Cape Town leads via the False Bay coastline to Simon’s Town, where the South African Navy Headquarters are located. A short visit will be made to the African penguin colony at Boulders Beach. Return to the pier.
